Jenga, Karaoke, and More: Recapping the Celebration

Laughter, games, and friendly competition filled the air at our 2024 Annual Company Picnic. But which team took home the coveted Jenga trophy and cash prize? Read on to find out!

With warmer weather and more hours of sunlight, we held our annual company picnic on April 27th, 2024 with all satellite site teams in attendance. The annual event aims to build camaraderie between team members and serve as a special thanks to them and their families.

Hosted at Pedrotti’s Ranch, IES members eagerly anticipated the main game-competition, in which individuals get to team up with their office and face off against other branch locations for individual trophies and cash prizes! The game used for this year’s tournament was the old classic, Jenga.

From 12pm to 4pm, members and their children enjoyed unlimited games, treats, and fun to include activities like face painting, caricature art, magic shows, trivia, karaoke, waddle ball races and a shoe accuracy kick contest. “It’s a big group of people having a lot of fun,” says Jeniffer Shipley, IES San Antonio Head Contract Administrator.

The company picnic hosted approximately 300 people with a little something for everyone. “They have two bouncy houses for the little ones and everybody stays pretty busy the whole time they’re there,” says Shipley, “It’s pretty fast-paced.”

For lunch, IES San Antonio enjoyed a ‘South of the Border Buffet’ prepared by Pedrotti’s executive chef and culinary team, and afterwards the event came to an end with members enjoying bingo before heading home. “We’ve had a good time every time we’ve gone. Besides being great fun, it is super for team-building,” says Shipley.
